Obituary For Lamont D. Jones

Our beloved Lamont David Jones, 63, of Conroe Texas, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven after battling critical health issues for several months. He surpassed the life expectancy the doctors anticipated. He passed on February 6, 2023.

Lamont was born to Augustus Jones (father) and Leila Perry (mother), on September 16, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Lamont Jones is survived by his Mother, Leila Perry, his loving wife, Linda Jones, his sisters; Shannon, Linda and Patty, his brothers; Jessie and Michael, his daughters; LaMarra, Leila, Melanie, Melissa, Sarah, his sons; Robert and Nathan, his 20 grandchildren, his 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father, Augustus Jones, and his daughter, Jennifer.

Lamont, an ordained Minister, Reverend, and Pastor, spoke out to anyone and everyone who would listen as he shared the word of God. Lamont was a truck driver by trade for many years, and this allowed him to preach the gifts of God and praise his maker to all he encountered.

Lamont’s passion was to serve our Lord and Savior through his songs and music. He spent countless hours perfecting his lyrics in a way that anyone who listened, could hear the Lord speaking through his words. Lamont was a true messenger for reaching out to anyone who was hungry for salvation. He was so devoted in spreading the word of God that he attended several churches seeking a place to play his instruments and songs for others to hear.

Lamont Jones was the bravest person we know. All who knew him, were blessed to have his presence in their lives. This man did not leave us, he merely went to his heavenly home. Don’t be sad for him, but rejoice, for his body and life has been renewed in the hands of our maker.

Psalm 68:18 – You have ascended on high, You have led captive Your captives; You have received gifts among men, Even among the rebellious also, that the Lord God may dwell there.
